For over three decades, Beebe has provided the Sussex County community with a full range of cardiac diagnostic services as well as rehabilitation treatment for heart patients. In 2007 we added interventional cardiology and advanced heart surgery to our program, completing the continuum of cardiovascular services available at Beebe.

Vascular Services
Established in 1990, Beebe Medical Center's Comprehensive Vascular program boasts a fully accredited Vascular Lab, non-invasive vascular testing, and a highly skilled surgical staff.

Most of the patients at the center are treated for atherosclerosis, which is also called hardening of the arteries. Atherosclerosis is caused when deposits of plaque in the arteries constrict or completely block the blood flow, depriving the body of oxygen and nutrients. Plaque may even break off and create a dangerous embolism. Atherosclerosis may cause damage to artery walls, stretching or rupturing them, causing a life-threatening aneurysm. Tests performed at Beebe's lab help detect vascular disease.
