For nearly three decades, Beebe has provided the Sussex County community with a full range of cardiac diagnostic services as well as rehabilitation treatment for heart patients. Recently, we've added interventional cardiology and advanced heart surgery to our program, completing the continuum of cardiovascular services available at Beebe.

Our highly skilled Cardiac Team includes experienced cardiac interventionalists and heart surgeons who perform advanced procedures in our state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs and operating rooms.
To assure the highest standards for open-heart surgery, Beebe has formed an alliance with the nationally renowned cardiovascular surgery team at Christiana Care's Center for Heart & Vascular Health.
Vascular Services
Established in 1990, Beebe Medical Center's Comprehensive Vascular program boasts a fully accredited Vascular Lab, non-invasive vascular testing, and a highly skilled surgical staff.
Most of the patients at the center are treated for atherosclerosis, which is also called hardening of the arteries. Atherosclerosis is caused when deposits of plaque in the arteries constrict or completely block the blood flow, depriving the body of oxygen and nutrients. Plaque may even break off and create a dangerous embolism. Atherosclerosis may cause damage to artery walls, stretching or rupturing them, causing a life-threatening aneurysm. Tests performed at Beebe's lab help detect vascular disease.
