Volunteers Kick Off The Planning for the 20th Annual Best of the Beach Event

04/14/09

Planning for Beebe Medical Foundation's 20th Annual Best of the Beach Art Auction kicked off March 12th when more than 30 volunteers got together at the Lewes home of Lacy and Victor Letonoff. Lacy Letonoff joins the Art Auction as a Co-Chair this year, helping lead the planning with Chair Mindi Tunnell and Co-Chair Trey Kraus.

Proceeds from the 2009 Best of the Beach Art Auction will benefit Beebe Medical Center's Cardiovascular Institute, supporting heart health in Sussex County. More than $20,000 in sponsorships has already been committed to this cause, including gifts from The Bank of Delmarva, CoreSource, Inc., The Inn at Canal Square, Partners in Recognition, Cheryl Paulsen and Eric Bachman, PNC Bank and Sussex Emergency Associates.

The support we have already seen this year is incredible, said Chair Mindi Tunnell. The loyalty our contributors have to Beebe is outstanding, especially given what a difficult economic year this has been. We truly appreciate the support for Beebe as we continue to strive to meet the needs of this community.

The funds raised at Best of the Beach also will benefit the programs of The Rehoboth Art League, which has worked closely with the Beebe Medical Foundation to organize the event since its inception.

This year's Art Auction will to take place the evening of June 13 in a huge tent on the grounds of the Beebe Health Campus.

Big Fish Grill will be the caterer. A popular Rehoboth Beach restaurant, Big Fish Grill has earned numerous Best of Delaware awards for its seafood, and is working on creating a new and exciting Caribbean menu for the event. The evening's entertainment will include music by The Island Boyz steel drum band.
