Beebe Medical Center Expands Patient Services at New Main Entrance

12/15/08

Beebe Medical Center, with the goal of better serving its growing communities, has designated the west entrance of its main campus on Savannah Road as the main entrance of the Hospital. It also has improved and expanded the services of the valets and those staff members who help patients with wheelchairs and other needs.

Emergency patients should continue to go to the east entrance area where the new entrance to the Emergency Department is located. The traditional east entrance at the circle is to be used only for patient pick-up. Valets no longer service the area and parking opportunities are limited.

Over the past years Beebe Medical Center has grown to meet the needs of our patient population, explains Ellen Tolbert, Director of Public Relations. As our facility has continued to expand and to be remodeled, it has become evident that the west entrance lends itself best to serving our patients as our main entrance. No only does it have more space and a larger lobby area than the east entrance, but also our multi-story covered parking structure is conveniently located adjacent to the hospital doors. Those visitors not using the valet service can enter the hospital directly from inside the garage, and do not have to walk outside into any inclement weather.

Beebe has contracted with the valet service First Impressions, which is part of Sodexo, a world leader in food service and facilities management. The valets offer patients and visitors quality free parking services.

We chose First Impressions because it has a reputation for giving quality customer service, says Dave McCann, Director of Environmental Services for Beebe Medical Center. It is important for us that our patients and their families, as well as our visitors, receive top quality service when they arrive at our doors.

The valets and Beebe staff also assist patients with wheelchairs when requested, and help them find their way to their destination within the hospital.

I like helping people, says Sean Bradham, who manages the eight-member team of valets. We are able to give more hands-on service on the west side of the hospital, and find that we often are helping people find their way around the hospital.

The valet service is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We are continuing to make the visit to Beebe more convenient, says Mrs. Tolbert. We are looking forward to our new, color coded signage, both inside and outside the hospital, which will make it to easier to find one's way around the Medical Center complex.
