Beebe Medical Center Honors Volunteers

Beebe Medical Center recently honored 48 volunteers for their dedication and commitment by providing in-kind services and for their time toward fundraising efforts. A ceremony took place at the 20th Annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon held at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
"Volunteers make a significant impact on the care and services that Beebe Medical Center provides the community," says Jeffrey M. Fried, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Center. "They give of their time unselfishly and with dedication, whether they are helping a patient, helping a Beebe team member, or taking part in fundraising activities. They are truly members of our Beebe team."
Last year, on a monthly average, at any given time about 247 volunteers were providing services. By the end of the year, Beebe Medical Center's team of volunteers had provided a total of 50,435 hours of their time helping in different departments, such as the Emergency Department, the Pharmacy, the Vascular Lab and Cardiac Rehab They helped in the mailroom and at the information desks. They also helped at Beebe Medical Center facilities in Rehoboth Beach and Millville. As members of the Auxiliary, they worked in the Gift Shop and in the Beebe Treasure Chest thrift shop on Route 1, and organized fundraisers.
