Surprise Awaits Golfers at the "Classic at Baywood" Tournament

05/22/08

Excitement is brewing for the "Classic at Baywood Greens" Golf Tournament to take place Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Baywood Greens, Long Neck.

Participants will get a chance at winning two different vehicles at two different "hole-in-one" winning holes. Both Megee Motors of Georgetown and I.G. Burton Imports of Milford have donated a vehicle to be won at a specific hole, if the player makes a hole in one. Also, those attending the event will get a chance at taking home a 37-inch, high definition, flat screen television that will be part of the silent auction.

"Classic at Baywood Greens" will raise funds for the Tunnell Cancer Center. It is the goal of the tournament committee to assist the cancer center as it provides hope and wellness to cancer patients. The tournament, which has received strong support from the community, raised $30,000 for the Tunnell Cancer Center at last year's event.

Tournament Co-Chairs Bill Haughey and Cindy Szabo and Honorary Chair Sarah Brady invite everyone to attend. Many sponsorships exist, and the entry fee of $175 per player includes greens fees, warm-up, contests, golf cart, GPS, breakfast, lunch, on-course refreshments, gifts, door prizes and awards. Registration and breakfast begin at 8 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

To take part in the tournament or for further information, contact Bill Haughey of Tunnell Companies, L.P. at (302) 945-9300, or Jessica Gordon, Events Coordinator for Beebe Medical Foundation, at (302) 644-2900.
