Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary Celebrates Success of its Thrift Shop

02/20/08

Beebe's Treasure Chest Thrift Shop, located in the Midway Shopping Mall along Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach, has been a fundraising success for Beebe Medical Center.

Through the hard work and dedication of many volunteers, and the donations made by Beebe Medical Center supporters, the little shop has managed to raise more funds to help Beebe Medical Center patients and their families than imagined.

"The Thrift Shop and its many dedicated, selfless volunteers far surpassed all expectations that were placed on the store," says Ed Noyalis, store manager.

Staff and volunteers recently celebrated the shop's first anniversary during a lunch at 1776 Restaurant located in the same shopping center. Two award presentations were made. Peggy Selph earned the Volunteer of the Year Award, and Carol Reed earned the January Employee of the Month Award.

Beebe's Treasure Chest Thrift Shop is operated by the Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary, Inc., and staffed by volunteers. Individuals and businesses throughout the community have contributed all of the items that are available for sale. The Treasure Chest Thrift Shop is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To make arrangements for the pick up of large items please call Ed Noyalis at 644-2878.
