Beebe Medical Center Welcomes Physician to its Medical Staff

Dr. Aasim Shaheen Sehbai, a hematologist and medical oncologist, has joined the Beebe Medical Staff and is seeing patients at the Tunnell Cancer Center. Dr. Sehbai is Board Certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.

"Dr. Sehbai is a great addition to our cancer center team,: said Cherrie Rich, Director of Oncology Services. "He is experienced in management of all types of cancer and has a special interest in breast cancer. He is also skilled at managing bleeding disorders, coagulation abnormalities and hematological malignancies."

Dr. Sehbai received his medical degree from the Rawalpindi Medical College in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, Jamaica, New York; and a residency and fellowship in hematology/oncology at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. During 2006, Dr. Sehbai was Chief Fellow and earned the "Fellow of the Year" award from the Hematology/Oncology Section. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at West Virginia University Hospital, and worked as a hematologist/oncologist at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. Dr. Sehbai has authored several publications from his participation in breast cancer research projects.

Dr. Sehbai is one of more than 200 physicians affiliated with Beebe Medical Center. They represent nearly 30 different specialties. New residents are encouraged to establish a local primary care physician as soon as possible to promote continuity of their healthcare in both preventive and emergency situations.
