Local Jeweler Adds Excitement to Thanksgiving Ball with Diamond Donation
Philip Livingston, owner of Elegant Slumming Fine Jewelry in Rehoboth Beach, has donated a magnificent, 1.84-carat diamond valued at $20,000 to be raffled as a fundraiser for Beebe Medical Center.
The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the Beebe Medical Foundation's Thanksgiving Ball, to take place November 3 at the Baycenter at Ruddertowne in Dewey Beach. Raffle tickets are priced at $100, and only 200 will be sold. The tickets for purchase were included in the Thanksgiving Ball invitations, and also are available for purchase from the Foundation by calling (302) 644-2900.
The modern, round brilliant cut diamond is an independently certified, near colorless and flawless to the naked eye gemstone. "I have always been a supporter of Beebe Medical Center and I believe that by donating this exquisite stone that I am giving back to our community" Livingston says. "I feel privileged to be able to do this."
"We very much appreciate Philip for his years of support to Beebe," says Christine Strauss, Chair of the 2007 Thanksgiving Ball. "Philip has taken part in the planning and organizing of this event and the Beebe Art Auction. He also has donated jewelry in the past. We are so grateful for this incredible gift."
