Beebe School of Nursing Offers Programs Beginning in the Summer and in the Fall

05/22/07

Opportunities are still available to be a part of the nursing education programs beginning this summer and this fall that are being offered by Beebe School of Nursing.

Beebe School of Nursing, which last year celebrated its 85th anniversary, is the only hospital-based nursing school in Delaware. It offers comprehensive nursing education, providing information in basic nursing concepts, advanced technology, and critical care nursing. Optimal, hands-on clinical experience in the hospital setting at Beebe Medical Center is an integral part of the program.

Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for licensure and entry-level nursing practice. Students also can earn a bachelor's degree in one additional year through an articulation agreement with Wilmington College. Today, graduates work at Beebe Medical Center and in hospitals across the region.

The two-year, daytime program begins in August. The three-year, evening/weekend program, which allows students to work during the day, begins in October. Pre-requisite college courses and a certified Nursing Assistant Course are required prior to enrollment in both courses. For more information, call Beebe School of Nursing at 645-3251.

The Beebe School of Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The diploma in Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying Beebe graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure. Beebe graduates have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state. Beebe School of Nursing is located adjacent to the Beebe Medical Center main campus on Savannah Road in Lewes.

"We are very proud of our program," said Connie Bushey, Director of the School of Nursing. "Our graduates have a tremendous success rate both on their state boards and in the clinical environment, reflecting our commitment to maintaining a high quality in the education and the clinical training that we offer. "
