Beebe Nursing School Student Earns Dr. Carl G. Pierce Jr. Scholarship
05/14/07
Maureen Adair, a senior at Beebe School of Nursing, has earned the Dr. Carl G. Pierce, Jr. endowed Scholarship for her outstanding academic performance. Ms. Adair, of Millsboro, plans to work in pediatrics.
The scholarship is awarded to a student based on his or her academic performance in Maternal, Child and Family Health Nursing, as well as on a caring and professional attitude and an interest in pediatrics. Mrs. Carl G. Pierce, Jr., together with her family, endowed the scholarship in memory of her husband Dr. Carl G. Pierce, Jr., who was a physician at Beebe Medical Center from 1951 until he retired in 1987. Dr. Pierce also had a long association with Beebe School of Nursing, where he served as School physician and taught nursing students about children.
