Tunnell Cancer Center to Host 4th Miracle Mile June 2 in Rehoboth Beach

The Fourth Annual Tunnell Cancer Center Miracle Mile is scheduled to take place 8 a.m., Saturday, June 2, on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk.

The event, which is organized in support of cancer survivors, will begin at Epworth United Methodist Church on Baltimore Avenue with opening remarks by Srihari Peri, M.D., Medical Director of the Tunnell Cancer Center, and Jeffrey M. Fried, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Center. After the walk, participants are invited back to the church hall to take part in breakfast and camaraderie.

"It is an inspirational event celebrating survivorship, camaraderie and hope," says organizer Judith Ramirez, the Tunnell Cancer Center social worker.

More than 100 people take part in the annual event. Cancer survivors, relatives and friends are warmly welcomed to attend. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the ceremony beginning at 8 a.m. Everyone who registers before May 25 will receive an event cap, and a water bottle. T-shirts will be given to survivors.
