Ginny Rickards, MEd, RN, Director of Admissions, will be conducting information sessions each hour to discuss educational opportunities at Beebe School of Nursing for those interested in the two-year day curriculum, which begins each August, or the Evening/Weekend program beginning in October 2007. The Evening/Weekend program will be a three-year curriculum. Seats are still available for the class beginning in August 2007 for qualified applicants. The School is located in Lewes in the back of Beebe Medical Center.
Beebe's nursing education program is known for offering comprehensive nursing education, providing education in basic nursing concepts, advanced technology, and critical care nursing. The two-year, day curriculum is known for providing optimal, hands-on clinical experience that is more accessible due to the proximity of Beebe Medical Center.
Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for licensure and entry-level nursing practice. Students can earn a bachelor's degree in one additional year through an articulation agreement with Wilmington College.
Pre-requisite college courses and a certified Nursing Assistant Course are required prior to enrollment in the Beebe School Nursing program. For more information, call Beebe School of Nursing at 645-3251.
The Beebe School of Nursing, based at Beebe Medical Center, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The diploma in Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying Beebe graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure. Beebe graduates have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state and can complete a Bachelors in Nursing degree at Wilmington College through an articulation agreement with one additional year of study.
