Cloud 9 Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach Helps Fight Cancer

01/17/07

Cloud 9 Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach raised more than $2,500 at its second annual dinner to fight breast cancer.

Executive Chef Chris Neal prepared the three-course, gourmet dinner and sommelier Laura Lamprechet chose the wines. Jazz vocalist Vessa performed.

Proceeds from the dinner were donated to Beebe Medical Center's Tunnell Cancer Center, which has relocated into new and larger premises at the Beebe Health Campus on Rt. 24. The Tunnell Cancer Center treats nearly 200 cancer patients each day, and takes part in clinical trials that seek breakthroughs in cancer care and treatment. Tunnel Cancer Center's five-year survival rates for its breast cancer patients exceed national averages.

The event was organized in memory of Patricia Brimm, who died from breast cancer in 2005. Brimm was the mother of Justine Berdini, wife of Cloud 9 owner, John Berdini.
