Beebe Recognizes Employee with "You Make A Difference" Award
11/17/06
Warren Wiley, Storeroom Coordinator at Beebe Medical Center, has been honored with the You Make a Difference Award for December.
As Beebe's Storeroom Coordinator, Mr. Wiley, who has worked at Beebe Medical Center since 1994, is known throughout the organization as someone who ensures quality and thorough service to all of the Beebe Medical Center departments. His dedication is evident by his good nature, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond when called upon. Mr. Wiley's behind-the-scenes work ensures that Beebe Medical Center team members and patients have the supplies and equipment they need.
An example of one of his many selfless acts of kindness was when a piece of equipment at the Beebe Health Campus malfunctioned as a patient was already prepared for a procedure. Mr. Wiley quickly responded to the urgency of the situation by finding a vehicle to transport a replacement piece of equipment from the hospital to the Campus and, as a result, the procedure was able to continue.
Another example of his commitment toward the health and well being of the patients was one evening when all of the Beebe Medical Center cribs were in use and he drove to a nearby hospital to pick up a crib for a pediatric patient waiting in the Emergency Department.
These are just a few examples of why Beebe Medical Center is proud and fortunate to have Mr. Wiley on its team.
Beebe Medical Center's You Make A Difference employee recognition program, which was established in 2002, gives employees the opportunity to recognize their colleagues for outstanding service. The program is similar to an employee of the month program, but 18 employees can be selected annually. Each nomination, which may be submitted by fellow employees or management, must meet criteria developed by the committee. The You Make A Difference Review Board evaluates eligible nominations each month. Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee meets in their department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive:
§ Parking space with sign/plaque for a month
§ $100 gift certificate to business of choice within Sussex County
§ Letter of congratulations and personal visit from Jeffrey Fried, Beebe president
§ Photo for wall plaque on hall outside of cafeteria
§ Special pin for badge
§ Letter to team member's director and department recognition
