Local Artist Julie Baxendell Contributes Painting to New Tunnell Cancer Center

09/29/06

In honor of the opening of the new facility that will house the expanded Tunnell Cancer Center at the Beebe Health Campus on Route 24, acclaimed local artist Julie Baxendell is contributing a painting that will hang in the main Lobby area of the new center.

Ms. Baxendell is a mid-Atlantic artist and member of the The Artist Exchange. Her painting is executed in conte' and acrylic and is entitled Delaware Bay. It is a scene depicting a sunrise over the Delaware Bay.

I live on the bay and each morning I begin my day by viewing such a scene, said Ms. Baxendell. Water scenes bring me a sense of peace and tranquility; and I hope through this contribution, the painting will also bring others this sense of peace and hope.

Pictured left to right on the occasion of contribution of this painting are Jeffrey M. Fried, President and CEO, Beebe Medical Center; the artist Julie Baxendell and Robert Tunnell, Jr. Chair of the Tunnell Cancer Center Campaign.
