Beebe Offers Valet Parking to Patients and Visitors

08/02/06

Beebe Medical Center is pleased to announce that it is offering complimentary valet parking at its main campus on Savannah Road in Lewes to patients and visitors during the Medical Center's expansion project.

To insure a dependable and professional service, Beebe has contracted with ParkMed Incorporated, a company that specializes in providing parking and hospitality services to the healthcare industry nationwide.

The ParkMed professionals will be on duty at the circle of the East Entrance every day from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. They will be on duty at the West Entrance Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Beebe Medical Center main campus is presently undergoing a $35 million expansion project that will double the size of the Emergency Department, nearly double the size of the Critical Care Unit, and add another 42 inpatient beds.

Once the expansion is completed in October of 2007, the roof of the new building will be the site of the new helipad, where helicopters land and take off as they get critically ill patients to the best possible medical care. When completed, the three-story wing, including the remodeled existing Emergency Department, will be more than 70,360 square feet in size.

The expansion of our Medical Center and its services is critically important to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community, said Richard Schaffner, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Beebe Medical Center. However, construction does cause inconveniences. Our goal in offering the free valet service is to make the visit to Beebe by patients and visitors as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Schaffner noted that Beebe plans to continue to offer a valet service at the West Entrance after the construction is completed.
