Beebe Medical Foundation Announces New Board of Directors

07/18/06

"Beebe Medical Foundation Board Chairperson Gene Bookhammer and Beebe Medical Center Board Chairperson Jan McCarty announce the formation of a new board. The Beebe Medical Center Board of Advisors was welcomed at its recent inaugural meeting at the Inn at Canal Square.

The Beebe Medical Foundation Board of Advisors will serve in an advisory capacity to the Beebe Medical Foundations' Board of Directors on matters of mutual interest and concern to the medical center and the communities in which they live, providing background information for board decisions.

With the size of the area we serve in eastern Sussex County, the growth that is occurring in this area, and our reliance on philanthropy to help support our ambitious plans, the Board's decision to create a Board of Advisors for the Beebe Medical Foundation will help us achieve our mission of meeting the medical needs of the communities we serve, said Jeffrey Fried, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Center.

Mr. Fried summarized for the new board the significant development and growth that Beebe Medical Center is facing in the areas of emergency care, cardiovascular services, cancer treatment and numerous outreach programs such as cancer screening and education.

Michael G. Fannin, Chief Operating Officer, Country Life Homes, has agreed to serve as the convening chairperson for the Board of Advisors. It is my honor to serve in the capacity of chairperson of this new body. My family has been a long-time friend and supporter of Beebe Medical Center and I hope that my participation will in some small way express the gratitude that we all feel for having Beebe Medical Center in our community. Mr. Fannin said.
