Sen. Carper To Speak At Beebe Honors Ceremony

The Board of Directors of Beebe Medical Center, the Beebe Medical Foundation and the entire Beebe Medical Center Family are proud to announce that Senator Tom Carper will be the Keynote Speaker at Beebe Medical Center's 2006 Beebe Honors Awards, announces R. Michael Clemmer, Executive Director of the Beebe Medical Foundation.
Senator Carper is a strong supporter of enhancing the health and safety of all Delawareans. Together with Senator Joseph Biden and Congressman Michael Castle, Senator Carper has secured funding to expand healthcare education in Delaware.
The Beebe Honors Awards recognizes individuals who have made a significant difference to Beebe Medical Center and to the quality of healthcare it brings to the community.
This year's recipients are: James J. Martin who will be recognized with the Norman B. Baylis Award for outstanding service to healthcare and the community; Joseph R. Hudson, who will be recognized with the John W. Rollins Award for his humanitarian and philanthropic efforts promote the betterment of our community; James P. Marvel, MD, who will be awarded the Robert W. Tunnell Award as a member of the Beebe Medical Center family honoring his efforts to help Beebe Medical Center meet our healthcare challenges.
This year's events will also include the Lifetime Achievement Award being presented to Mrs. Lena English. Mrs. English's lifetime commitment has advanced the mission, values and goals of the Beebe Medical Center and is an inspiration to others.
The Beebe Honors Fourth Annual Dinner and Ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2006, at The Clubhouse at Baywood Greens from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event is open to the public. For information or reservations please contact the Beebe Medical Foundation at (302) 644-2900.
The Norman B. Baylis Award is presented to a distinguished community member honoring that person for outstanding service to healthcare and the broader community. This person helps Beebe maintain or further develop its place as a community partner and helps the hospital meet its mission to serve the people of Sussex County. It is with great pleasure that James J. Martin will be recognized this year as the Normal B. Baylis Awardee.
The John W. Rollins Award is presented to an established humanitarian and philanthropist honoring that person for giving of his/her talents and resources to directly promote the betterment of our society. Beebe is proud to present the 2006 Rollins Award to Joseph R. Hudson.
The Robert W. Tunnell Award is presented to a member of the Beebe Medical Center Family, honoring a person for the efforts put forth to directly help Beebe Medical Center meet future healthcare challenges and to insure that Beebe maintains its leadership in healthcare. The BMC Family is honoring Dr. James P. Marvel with the 2006 Tunnell Award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is periodically awarded to an individual or family whose lifetime commitment has significantly advanced the mission, values and goals of Beebe Medical Center and Beebe Medical Foundation. This year, the Foundation recognizes Lena English with the Lifetime Commitment Award. Her dedication to Beebe Medical Center has been exemplary and an inspiration to others. This award acknowledges Beebe's deep appreciation for her service of exceptional merit and spirit.
