Appointments Are Necessary for Fall Risk Assessment
06/27/06
Beebe Medical Center reminds those interested in the Berg Balance and Fall Risk Assessment to be offered free Tuesday, July 11, at the CHEER Center in Georgetown that appointments are required.
The 15-minute, individual assessments will be carried out during a regular Bone Density Screening program from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Beebe Physical Therapist Roseanne Schneider, who will perform the screenings, will be available to discuss findings.
The Berg Balance and Fall Risk Assessment can identify people who are statistically at risk of experiencing a fall, which can have serious health and functional status ramifications. Beebe will let their physicians know so that they can get interventional physical therapy to improve their balance and reduce fall risk
If the Berg Balance assessment shows a risk for falling, the patient will be advised to see a physician. To make an appointment for the Berg Balance Assessment, please call Beebe Medical Center at (302) 645-3623.
