05/18/06
The Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary presented to Beebe Medical Center a check in the amount of $105,000 from funds it has raised during the past year through sales at the gift shop and from its many fundraising activities.
Auxiliary President Ruth Logue made the presentation to Jeffrey M. Fried, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Center, at the organization's annual luncheon.
More than 100 people attended the event where guest speakers were Mr. Fried and Jan McCarty, Chairwoman of the Beebe Board of Directors.
In addition to the $105,000 gift, the Auxiliary previously gave $735,000 to the Beebe Medical Foundation's Vision 2005 Capital Campaign that ended in December 2005.
During the luncheon, several special guests were recognized for the support they have given to the Auxiliary. New officers also were installed. Gertrude Tharp, who has been an Auxiliary member since 1955, was recognized as the Parliamentarian Emeritus. She is the first member to receive this recognition.
Beebe employees who were recognized for their support of the Auxiliary were: Nancy Cummings, Community Relations Specialist; Jerry Whitcomb with Plant Engineering; Warren Wiley, Coordinator of Storeroom Distribution; and Becky McCarty, Coordinator of Volunteer Services.
Ginger Snowden, the Chairwoman of the Auxiliary's Nominating Committee, installed incoming officers.
