Cancer Buddies Lecture Series Begins

05/01/06

The Beebe Medical Center Tunnell Cancer Center is proud to present the Cancer Buddies Lecture Series Life After Cancer, a free, special program to help survivors and their families deal with the emotions of cancer survivorship.

The first lecture, Life after Treatment, will be presented Wednesday, May 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Tunnell Cancer Center Conference Room. Guest speaker will be Louise White, a board member of the Wellness Community and a licensed social worker. Refreshments will be served. Other lectures in the series will take place in July, September, and November.

The Cancer Buddies is a Tunnell Cancer Center support group open to people with cancer and their caregivers. Group participants are encouraged to discuss their experiences and discover how to feel more in control and less isolated. Judith Ramirez, M.A., a social worker with the center, facilitates the group. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Tunnell Cancer Center Conference Room. Refreshments are served. Call 645-3770 for more information.
