02/22/06
With the completion of the largest capital campaign in Beebe Medical Center's history so near, it was welcome news when the Highway One Partnership presented a $100,000 pledge to the campaign to put Beebe over the top.
The $100,000 pledge put the Vision 2005 Capital Campaign at more than $11million, assuring that Beebe qualified for the $1 million challenge grant offered by the Longwood Foundation.
With the completion of the Vision Campaign, three critically important capital projects will have been funded, helping to ensure that Beebe Medical Center will continue to be able to provide quality healthcare to those living and visiting southeastern Delaware, remarked Alex Pires, Highway One Partnership. Having Beebe in our community improves our lives and we wanted to demonstrate our appreciation in a tangible way.
More than 2,700 individual gifts have been received in support of this campaign. The success of this campaign represents a milestone in the fundraising efforts of the Beebe Medical Foundation, commented Paul Mylander, Chairperson, Vision 2005 Capital Campaign.
We could never have accomplished the successful completion of this campaign without an outpouring of support --both big and small -- that came from the various communities we serve, remarked Jeffrey Fried, Beebe Medical Center President and CEO. The successful campaign results are a testimony to the 90 years of service Beebe has rendered since its founding in 1916.
Mr. Fried added, Volunteers and the remarkable generosity of residents living and working in this area have made the real difference.
