Beebe Names New Laboratory Director
11/08/05
Beebe Medical Center has named Ava Wright as the new Laboratory Director. Wright has been serving as Acting Director since August when Laboratory Director Malcolm Hancock retired.
Wright will oversee operations and ensure the quality and safety standards of the Clinical Laboratory, which provides lab processing and testing services for the hospital, as well as for physician offices.
Wright has 34 years of progressive clinical lab and supervisory experience at Beebe Medical Center. Before serving as Acting Director, she was a team leader. Wright graduated from the Medical Laboratory Program at Delaware Technical and Community College and earned her associates degree. She has been recognized as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the American Association of Bioanalysts.
In addition to Wright's extensive clinical and technical experience, she is a trained process improvement facilitator, as well as a College of American Pathologists assessor. She has led and participated on numerous process improvement teams, including the current National Patient Safety Goals team and the recent Failure Mode and Effect Analysis teams. She also worked with her team to make sure that the Laboratory's Transfusion Service maintained its accreditation with the American Association of Blood Banks.
Ava's leadership will be a welcome addition, not only to the lab but to our entire organization, said Donna Streletzky, Vice President of Operations at Beebe Medical Center. Please join me in welcoming Ava to her new role.
