Beebe Recognizes Employees with "You Make A Difference" Award

10/14/05

Beebe Medical Center is pleased to announce and congratulate its most recent You Make A Difference award recipients: Kathy Cannatelli, the Patient Care Coordinator in Beebe's Critical Care Unit, and histology technician Barry Rolt.

Cannatelli's staff nominated for her strong leadership abilities in maintaining a positive attitude during leadership changes over the past year and helping her staff grow as individuals.

Kathy is special because being a PCC in the CCU isn't just a job, it's her personal mission to make this the greatest place to work, and for that matter to be a patient, the staff wrote about her on the nomination form.

Together, several staff members described her as non-judgmental, patient, open-minded, creative, devoted, and motivational.

She has such a wealth of clinical knowledge, while at the same time, you focus on your team members' individual assets, encouraging them to strengthen their weaknesses and expand their knowledge, the staff wrote.

Andrea Ross, who works with Rolt in the Histology Department, nominated him for his supportive attitude and going above and beyond the call of duty.

Barry has been here a little over a year and has made friends everywhere, Ross wrote, adding that he never says no, and helps where he is needed.

He comes in on the weekend&.and assists with the autopsies&, she wrote. Barry is an asset to our department.

Beebe Medical Center's You Make A Difference employee recognition program, which was established in 2002, gives employees the opportunity to recognize their colleagues for outstanding service. The program is similar to an employee of the month program, but 18 employees can be selected annually. Each nomination, which may be submitted by fellow employees or management, must meet criteria developed by the committee. The You Make A Difference Review Board evaluates eligible nominations each month. Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee meets in their department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive:

§ Parking space with sign/plaque for a month
§ $100 gift certificate to business of choice within Sussex County
§ Letter of congratulations and personal visit from Jeffrey Fried, Beebe president
§ Photo for wall plaque on hall outside of cafeteria
§ Special pin for badge
§ Letter to team member's director and department recognition
