Beebe Names New Chaplain
07/12/05
The Reverend Keith Goheen, MDiv, has joined Beebe Medical Center as the new, full-time hospital chaplain. Chaplain Goheen will be available to serve the spiritual needs of staff members, patients and their families.
We are so pleased that Keith has joined our team, said Ellen Tolbert, Director of Patient Relations for Beebe. We hope that everyone joins us in welcoming him.
Goheen has served as the weekend, on-call Chaplain at Beebe Medical Center since October 2004. He has lived in the Lewes area since 1999 and served congregations in Massachusetts and Delaware. Prior to joining the Beebe staff, he was employed by the First State Community Action Agency coordinating volunteers and clients through the Senior Companion Program.
Chaplain Goheen was awarded the Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton, MA. He is an ordained minister holding fellowship in the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.
My focus is to promote the spiritual well being of the Beebe's patients, their families and the staff, Goheen said. As chaplain, I'll strive to uphold Beebe's commitment to respect the diversity of personal religious needs, and I look forward to building helpful relationships with local clergy and lay leaders.
