Beebe's Art Auction to Offer Diamonds and Sapphires
05/17/05
Beebe Medical Foundation is happy to report on the overwhelming support by the community for its 16th Annual Best of the Beach Art Auction Dinner & Dance.
Within less than two weeks of the invitations being mailed, the event sold out, with some 800 people planning to take part in an evening of gourmet food, wonderful music and Live and Silent auctions with exciting collections of unique and delightful art and non-art items.
The latest, and most expensive addition to the Live Auction collection is an exquisite diamond and sapphire bracelet valued at more than $6,500 that was donated by Philip Livingston, owner of Elegant Slumming in Rehoboth Beach.
We anticipate enthusiastic bidding for all the items selected for the live auction, culminating in the quest for ownership of this diamond and sapphire bracelet, said event Chairperson Nancy Hawpe.
Local businesses and other Beebe supporters have been wonderful, Hawpe added. Some of the many donated auction items include an original watercolor painted by Howard Schroeder that was donated by the Schroeder Family, a double-leaf extension table and six chairs donated by Saxon & Wakefield, and a gourmet dinner for 12 in someone's home, including 12 bottles of wine, donated by Fish On!, Fins & Atlantic Liquors.
Proceeds from the event will support the expansion of Beebe Medical Center's Emergency Department and the Rehoboth Art League's Outreach Program for minority communities.
