Annual Volunteer Holiday Luncheon Draws Nearly 160 Volunteers

Beebe Medical Center celebrated volunteers this holiday season at its annual Volunteer Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Nearly 160 volunteers from Beebe’s Guiding Light volunteer program and the Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary enjoyed a wonderful celebration this year, the theme of which was “The Poinsettia.” Beautiful white poinsettias were given as door prizes and poinsettias adorned the tables. Each volunteer also received a gift bag, including 2005 calendars.

Beebe’s Nutritional Services Department catered the delicious menu and in keeping with tradition, members of Beebe Medical Center’s Board of Directors and Executive and Management staff served the volunteers. The program included a performance from part of the Lewes Men's Chorus, with Bill Earl playing piano for them. Two volunteers read the poems, "The Legend of the Poinsettia" and "At Christmastime," and Beebe volunteer Don Wagner read an original poem entitled, "The Holiday Flower."

Beebe Medical Center has over 200 active volunteers who have donated over 38,500 hours to our organization this year (as of November 30). We couldn’t do what we do without them! Members of the community who are interested in becoming volunteers may contact Becky McCarty, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at 645-3531.
