Art Auction Generates $123,000 for Vision 2005 Capital Campaign
Tina and Mike Fannin acquired a classic Sussex County painting by local artist Steve Rogers at the 2004 Annual “Best of the Beach “ Art Auction and at the same time supported a critically important community project. This annual event raised more than $123,000 to support of the expansion of Beebe Medical Center's Emergency Department.
This latest art acquisition of an original Rogers oil painting, entitled “Broadkill House,” follows an earlier acquisition by Mike’s parents, Elmer and Mary Ann Fannin, who were high bidders at the 2003 Art Auction when they purchased a painting entitled, “The Lewes Boatyard.”
“Being able to purchase an original painting of a scene that is meaningful to me and my family, and at the same support our local artists and hospital is fantastic,” remarked Mike Fannin.
“It is vital that we all get behind Beebe as it continues to provide for the ever increasing demand for quality healthcare,” commented Tina Fannin.
“I am of course flattered that the Fannin Family have become such collectors of my work but even more I am pleased that they have chosen to benefit our Medical Center through their collecting,” remarked Rogers.
