10/15/04
Beebe Medical Center and its Tunnell Cancer Center celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Radiation Oncology Facility at the Beebe Health Campus on October 14. This new facility will house a second linear accelerator to provide radiation treatment for cancer patients. Beebe Medical Center plans to begin construction on the new facility in November to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community and make oncology services available in a more convenient location for many area residents.
The Radiology Oncology facility will be 11,800 square feet and will include a reception and lobby with seating area, vending area, administration and registration, examination rooms, phlebotomy, dosimetry, simulator and a Linear Accelerator (which provides radiation treatment) along with associated support service areas. Completion is anticipated for late 2005.
Beebe Medical Center held the groundbreaking event on Thursday in conjunction with an open house to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Outpatient Care Center at the Beebe Health Campus. The facility provides express testing and blood draw, physical therapy, and diagnostic imaging with a dedicated women's imaging center.
