Mermaid Splash Dance Supports Beebe Medical Center and CAMP Rehoboth

Successful 2004 Event Raises $10,000 to Benefit Dedicated Women’s Imaging Center and CAMP Rehoboth Community Center Capital Campaign
The Mermaid Splash 2004 Dance Committee presented two $5,000 checks recently; one to representatives from Beebe Medical Center to benefit its dedicated Women’s Imaging Center at the Beebe Health Campus on Route 24 and another to CAMP Rehoboth for its Community Center Capital Campaign. The gifts were made possible through this year’s successful Mermaid Splash Dance, which was held on Saturday, June 26 at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Proceeds from the event were divided equally to benefit both causes.
“The Outpatient Care Center at the Beebe Health Campus is dedicated to creating a comfortable, caring environment for women’s diagnostic imaging,” explained Jeffrey M. Fried, Beebe Medical Center President and CEO. “Beebe Medical Center is extremely grateful for the Mermaid Splash Dance Committee’s generosity and concern for quality women’s healthcare services in our community.”
"CAMP Rehoboth's mission as a community service organization is to create a more positive environment in Rehoboth Beach and its related communities through dedicated programs, services and community partnerships," commented Andrea Andrus, Development Director of CAMP Rehoboth. "The Mermaid Splash Dance presents a wonderful opportunity to bring members of the community together and have a great time while fulfilling these goals. We thank the event organizers and supporters, and look forward to more of these opportunities."
The Mermaid Splash Dance started as a women’s event a few years ago and has evolved into a dance where the community comes together to support the organization’s fundraising efforts. The Committee credits the many attendees, over 50 local businesses, and dedicated volunteers for making the event a success.

The Women’s Imaging Center at The Beebe Health Campus, on Route 24 in Rehoboth Beach, opened September 2003. The Center is dedicated to the unique needs of women and provides: mammography, sentinel node breast biopsy, bone density testing, and ultrasound. Founded in 1991, CAMP Rehoboth’s vision is to be “the heart of the community” through its health and wellness programs; support, education and outreach programs; networking and information resources; and its creative and varied fundraising efforts.
