Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary Raises $600,000 toward Vision 2005
05/14/04
The Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary presented Beebe Medical Center president Jeffrey M. Fried with a $100,000 gift at its annual membership luncheon on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, which brings the volunteer organization’s Vision 2005 Capital Campaign contribution to $600,000 in only four years. The Auxiliary surpassed its ambitious five-year, $500,000 fundraising goal, which was dedicated to benefit the new Women’s Imaging Center at the Beebe Health Campus on Route 24. During the luncheon at the Kings Creek Country Club, the Auxiliary announced its continued support of Vision 2005, Beebe Medical Center’s largest capital campaign.
“Beebe Medical Center is extremely fortunate for the support and dedication our Auxiliary demonstrates every day,” Mr. Fried explained. “The fundraising capabilities of this organization are truly amazing and speak to the commitment Auxiliary members have for the well being of Beebe, its employees and patients, and healthcare services throughout our community. We could not provide the same level of service without them.”
Auxiliary members are dedicated volunteers who support Beebe Medical Center, including operating the hospital gift shop and inpatient television service, staffing the information desk, and planning fundraising sales and events at the hospital and in the community.
In addition to the presentation of its generous gift at the annual luncheon, the Auxiliary recognized honored guests and installed new officers. Erna Steinbruck, outgoing president, recognized past presidents Elise Swezey, Elaine Dewey-Shupe, Patricia Johnson and Betty Pratt. The Auxiliary honored Mary Lou Menozzi, Beebe Medical Center Telephone Operator; Tracy VanVorst, Senior Registrar; Barbara Vugrinec, Vice President of Information Systems; and Becky McCarty, Coordinator of Volunteer Services, for the assistance and encouragement each has provided the organization throughout the year.
Incoming officers of the Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary, installed by Ginger Snowden, Chairperson of the Nominating Committee, are: Ruth Logue, President; Patricia Sandy, First Vice President; Barbara Baglin, Second Vice President; Florence Wingate, Treasurer; Nancy Kratz, Assistant Treasurer; Joan Wentzel, Recording Secretary; Betty Gleeson, Corresponding Secretary; and Maxine Ungerbuehler, Member-at-Large.
Save the Date: The Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary will host its Fourth Annual Funfest, “A Day at the Farm,” on Saturday, September 18, 2004, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Windswept Stables on Route 24. The event will feature games and events for children, pony rides and hayrides, pumpkin and mum sales, food, music and fun.
