Cirque des Arts Theme Sets Colorful Tone to Beebe’s Art Auction
04/20/04
Members of the Decorating Committee for Beebe Medical Foundation’s 15th Annual “Best of the Beach” Art Auction, Dinner and Dance, have selected a “Cirque des Arts” theme for the Saturday, June 12th event, under a tent on the grounds of Beebe Medical Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes.
“We want to create an exciting and enjoyable ambiance to set the tone for the entire evening,” commented Jennifer Robino, Chairman of the 2004 “Best of the Beach” Decorating and Theme Committee. “The colorful and festive components of our ‘Cirque des Arts’ theme will help to compliment and showcase the donated works of many local and regional artists whose extraordinary talents are the focal point of both the silent and live auctions. An exciting collection of non-art items contributed by local businesses will also be offered. The impressive tent on the grounds of Beebe Medical Center lends itself perfectly to the ‘Cirque des Arts’ theme.”
“Best of the Beach” festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception and silent auction bidding followed by a buffet dinner catered by Linda Frear of Hearts Delight. Auctioneer Don Moore of Seaford, Delaware, will host the live auction segment featuring an original watercolor created especially for the event by Rehoboth Beach artist Sharon Howe Myers entitled “Cool Blues.” Immediately following the live auction, guests will trip-the-light-fantastic until 11:00 p.m.
Proceeds from the “Best of the Beach” Art Auction will benefit the Vision 2005 Capital Campaign and specifically support the expansion and renovation of Beebe Medical Center’s Emergency Department on the Savannah Road Campus. The event will also benefit the Rehoboth Art League’s children’s art education outreach programs in minority communities. Christine Strauss of Rehoboth Beach is event Chairman; Nancy Hawpe is Co-Chairman. Distinguished Honorary Chairman is Jean Ellen duPont Shehan.
Beebe Medical Foundation will host a “Pre-Gala Party” to launch the 2004 “Best of the Beach” Art Auction endeavor on Saturday, May 1, 2004, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Kings Creek home of Jennifer and Mark Robino, Rehoboth Beach. Reservations for this event are limited.
