Beebe Volunteer Raises $1,000 for Vision 2005 through Poetry Book Sales
04/09/04
Donald Wagner, award-winning poet and one of Beebe’s “Guiding Light” volunteers, launched his own fundraiser, raising $1,000 for the expansion and renovation of Beebe's Emergency Department as part of the Vision 2005 Capital Campaign. Mr. Wagner generously donated all proceeds from a March 31 book signing of his recently published book of poetry, entitled “Memories from My Heart,” to Vision 2005. His dynamic initiative outside the Sunshine Café sold 100 books at $20 per copy to help Beebe expand the Emergency Department, which is necessary to meet the increased needs of the significant population growth in this area.
"Beebe Medical Center is extremely fortunate and grateful for the generosity Don Wagner has demonstrated with his Vision 2005 fundraiser, as well as his ongoing support of Beebe through his volunteer efforts," Jeffrey Fried, Beebe president, explained. "We are proud that Mr. Wagner is one of the more than 200 dedicated volunteers who make it possible for Beebe Medical Center to deliver an extra level of caring for our community."
