"Music for the Cure" Concert to Raise funds for Beebe Medical Center

"""The first "Music for the Cure" concert to raise funds for cancer and heart health initiatives at Beebe Medical Center will take place Wednesday, October 12, at 8 p.m., at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

The concert features The Rippingtons with guitarist Russ Freeman and marks the beginning of the five-day-long Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival. The Rippingtons is a Grammy-nominated, American contemporary jazz band celebrating its 25th anniversary. Its tunes include Kilimanjaro, Tourist in Paradise, Welcome to the St. James Club, Weekend In Monaco, Live in L.A., Sahara, Brave New World and Live Across America.

The opening piece, "Jazz Gets the Blues," will feature Brian Simpson, Nick Colionne, Steve Cole, Jeff Golub and Matt Marshak. Tickets start at $49 and include an open bar for beer and wine. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to the website www.rehobothjazz.com.
