Beebe Opens the Jean and Joan Fund Recovery and Education Center
03/05/03
Beebe Medical Center’s Tunnell Cancer Center will dedicate its new “Jean and Joan Fund Recovery and Education Center” on March 13, 2003 at 3 p.m. with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The event celebrates the new education center, which was made possible through generous donations from the Jean and Joan Fund - an organization established in the memory of Jean James and Joan Martin, two area women who lost their valiant battles with cancer. The Jean and Joan Fund organizes an annual golf tournament each fall in support of the Tunnell Cancer Center and has donated more than $60,000 over the past three years.
The Jean and Joan Fund Recovery and Education Center will provide information on the range of physical and emotional recovery services Beebe makes available to cancer patients and their family members. Image recovery is a key goal of the education center, including wig and prosthesis fitting, lymphedema products, information on medications and chemotherapy, as well as information on support groups and outreach services. For more information, please call the Tunnell Cancer Center at 645-3770.
