Kings Creek Garden Club Plants New Garden for Gull House

05/25/11

Five members of the Kings Creek garden club recently began a volunteer effort to beautify the sensory garden at Gull House, Beebe Medical Center's adult day care center in Rehoboth Beach. The garden gives guests a chance to enjoy tranquility in a garden filled with vegetation, flowers, birds and butterflies.

It is so nice that the garden club members are making our garden so beautiful, says Melissa Burton, activities specialist at Gull House. We all enjoy going into the garden, as well as looking at it through the windows.

Garden club members Judi Pezone, Carol Burn, Pat DeVoll, Beth Magnus and Jane Perkins, purchased soil and planted flowers. They will return regularly to maintain the garden. Kings Creek Garden Club is affiliated to Kings Creek Country Club.

Gull House, located on Terrace Road, offers social activities to functionally impaired persons who are 18 years old or older in a cozy setting. All staff is professional, and certified as a Dementia Practitioner. Gull House encourages community involvement. It also hosts a monthly care givers support group each month.
