Beebe Medical Center Recognizes Joe McCabe with the "You Make a Difference" Award for April

"Joe McCabe, a radiology technologist in Beebe Medical Center's Diagnostic Imaging Department, has been honored with the You Make a Difference Award for April.

Joe's team members know that they can depend on him, not only to get work done in a timely and efficient manner, but to help them when they need it. Recently, he assisted a co-worker with a technical problem. With kindness and patience, he walked her through each step of the process. Then, he followed up by telephoning her later in the day to make sure that everything was running smoothly.

This is an example of Joe's overall attitude and work ethic. He makes sure things are done correctly and goes above and beyond to keep the workplace a positive one. He'll come in early if needed, and helps the students from Del Tech just as he does for his team members.

Joe puts patients first, as if they were members of his family, and provides the quality customer service that Beebe takes pride in offering our patients every day. Joe is an outstanding team member and someone who truly makes a difference at Beebe.

Beebe Medical Center's You Make a Difference employee recognition program, which was established in 2002, gives employees the opportunity to recognize their colleagues for outstanding service. The program is similar to an employee of the month program, but 18 employees can be selected annually. Each nomination, which may be submitted by fellow employees or management, must meet criteria developed by the committee. The You Make a Difference Review Board evaluates eligible nominations each month. Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee meets in their department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive:

§ Parking space with sign/plaque for a month
§ $100 gift certificate to business of choice within Sussex County
§ Letter of congratulations and personal visit from Jeffrey Fried, Beebe president
§ Photo for wall plaque on hall outside of cafeteria
§ Special pin for badge
§ Letter to team member's director and department recognition
