"The American Hospital Association has recognized Halsey G. Knapp for the lasting contributions he has made to Beebe Medical Center and to the communities that it serves.

Joan H. Lewis, Association Regional Executive, presented Mr. Knapp with a resolution from the American Hospital Association during the Board of Directors meeting acknowledging his commitment and dedication, and for setting a standard against which the efforts of others will be measured in the future.

The Board congratulated Mr. Knapp on his achievement and on the 50 years he has served on the Board.

Halsey Knapp's 50 years of service as a member of Beebe Medical Center's Board of Directors reflects a lifetime of service to his community, says Judge William Swain Lee, Chair of the Beebe Medical Center Board of Directors. His knowledge of every segment of that community, his sound business judgment and his commitment to providing the best healthcare to all of the region's inhabitants has been invaluable in our growth from a small community hospital to an outstanding regional medical center. As a voice of reason and a moral compass, he continues to be an important part of Beebe's future.

Mr. Knapp has been and continues to be an active member of the Board. He was appointed to the Board in July 1961. He served as Board Chair from 1981 to 1983, as Vice Chair from 1978 to 1980, as Treasurer from 1964 to 1977. He also has served on various Board Committees over the years, including as Chair of the Bylaws Committee for many years.
