Lewes Cardiologist to Speak at the ICD Support Group Meeting
Any one who would like to learn about Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICD) is welcome to attend the ICD Support Group meetings at Beebe Medical Center.
Lewes cardiologist Alberto Rosa, MD, will discuss some of the issues that patients face during the meeting on Tuesday, March 8, at 6 p.m. in the Cardiovascular Conference Room.
ICDs are devices used for patients who are at risk for recurrent and sustained ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation that can cause their hearts to stop beating properly. The devices are often prescribed when medications do not help. Dr. Rosa's presentation will explore strategies of survivorship, stress management, building social support, action planning and shock management.
For more information or to register, contact the Beebe Medical Center Cardiac Rehab Department at (302) 645-3514. The evening will include light refreshments.
