Beebe Honors Father John F. Hird

Beebe Medical Center’s Board of Directors recently presented John F. Hird, former Beebe Medical Center Board member, with the Norman B. Baylis Award for Excellence in Healthcare.
The award was established by former Beebe Medical Center Board member, Norman B. Baylis, to thank a Beebe Board member for contributions to the Medical Center and to the Beebe Board of Directors. Mr. Baylis was an active and cherished Beebe Board member until his death in March 2000.
Father Hird was a member of Beebe Medical Center’s Board from 1988 to 2002. During that time, he was active with Beebe Medical Center’s Community Health Initiative, as well as the Delmarva Health Initiative and the Institutional Review Board. The Board of Directors presented Father Hird with a silver engraved wine cooler with his award.
He resigned from the Board in 2002 and moved to Sykesville, MD so he and his wife could be closer to their children and grandchildren.
