Beebe Medical Center Holds Diabetes Health Fair November 17

"Beebe Medical Center's Diabetes Management Program is holding the 4th Annual Diabetes Health Fair on Wednesday, November 17, 2010.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the McCurry Conference Center located in the Medical Arts Building at the Beebe Health Campus, John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach.

Keynote speaker will be Tami Schoepflin, RD, CDE, Regional Clinical Specialist in the Mid-Atlantic Region for Roche Diagnostics Corporation Insulin Delivery System. She will give a general presentation at 4:30 p.m. on diabetes and discuss tips on dining during the holidays.

At 5 p.m., Beebe Medical Center wound care specialist Bonnie Cunningham, GCNS-BC, CWOCN, and Anas Atrash, MD, of Beebe Medical Center will discuss diabetic foot care and how to prevent diabetic foot ulcers.

Diabetes educators, exercise specialists, dietitians and others will be on hand to discuss diabetes. New products, health screenings and educational handouts also will be available. For more information, please call Diabetes Management Department at (302) 947-2500.
