Beebe Medical Center Recognizes Cheyenne Luzader with the "You Make a Difference" Award for October

10/11/10

""Cheyenne Luzader, Coordinator of Integrative Health, has been honored with the You Make a Difference Award for October.

Mrs. Luzader is recognized at Beebe Medical Center for her dedication to bringing comfort and healing to patients and team members. As a practitioner of complementary and alternative therapies, she works hard to promote wellness and prevention through healthy living.

One of the areas that stands out is in the comfort she brings to cardiac and stroke patients and their families. As examples of her dedication, she returned to the hospital from home over a holiday weekend to provide assistance to a patient and a family. Recently, she also took the time to teach a stroke patient's wife the therapeutic touch practice that relieves a patient's pain so that the wife could provide her husband with relief at home.

Her kindness and concern does not stop with her patients. Mrs. Luzader helps Beebe team members when they need relief from daily pressures so they can return to work refreshed and relaxed. Recently, she started a hands-on-healing team to train staff members to not only help patients but one another. Her staff massages and Yoga programs also have been a welcome to Beebe team members.

Mrs. Luzader's knowledge of complementary and alternative therapies, and the services she offers Beebe Medical Center represents an invaluable contribution.

Beebe Medical Center's You Make a Difference employee recognition program, which was established in 2002, gives employees the opportunity to recognize their colleagues for outstanding service. The program is similar to an employee of the month program, but 18 employees can be selected annually. Each nomination, which may be submitted by fellow employees or management, must meet criteria developed by the committee. The You Make a Difference Review Board evaluates eligible nominations each month. Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee meets in their department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive:

§ Parking space with sign/plaque for a month
§ $100 gift certificate to business of choice within Sussex County
§ Letter of congratulations and personal visit from Jeffrey Fried, Beebe president
§ Photo for wall plaque on hall outside of cafeteria
§ Special pin for badge
§ Letter to team member's director and department recognition
