Free Breast Health Forum to take place September 19 in Lincoln
Beebe Medical Center's Tunnell Cancer Center is offering a free breast health forum on Sunday, September 19, from noon until 5 p.m. in partnership with Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 23115 Slaughter Neck Road in Lincoln.
Clinical breast exams will be available on-site along with breast health education. For those who qualify, no-cost mammograms will be offered the same afternoon.
This initiative called SOS², Sharing Our Stories, Saving Our Sisters, is funded by a grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Philadelphia Affiliate. SOS² is committed to addressing barriers that may exist for women who need to get a mammogram. Partnerships with businesses, organizations, churches, and community groups help spread the message that early detection saves lives. Mammograms and clinical breast exams are important diagnostic tools to identify breast abnormalities.
All women 18 and older should have a clinical breast exam, and all women 40 years and older should have a yearly mammogram.
Call 302-645-3169 or 302-645-3100, extension 2724, to register for the clinical breast exam and mammogram.
