Beebe School of Nursing Welcomes Class of 2012
The Class of 2012 nursing students attended orientation the week of August 9 as Beebe School of Nursing kicked off its fall semester.
Connie E. Bushey, MEd, BSN, RN, Director of the School welcomed the students, who will attend the program for two years. She introduced the faculty and acknowledged the local businesses who donated gifts for the students' welcome bags. Those businesses were: Kings Ice Cream, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Capriotti's, The Pretzel Factory, and Café Azafran. Wilmington University also donated gift items, as well as Beebe Medical Center's Public Relations Department. Beebe School of Nursing faculty member Lois Bixby, RN, MSN, collected the items and made up the bags for the students.
The Beebe School of Nursing, based at Beebe Medical Center, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying Beebe graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure. Beebe graduates have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state and can complete a Bachelors in Nursing degree at Wilmington University through an articulation agreement with one additional year of study.
