Beebe Medical Center Offers Free Disease Management & Prevention Classes

Beebe Medical Center Community Health Nurse Coordinator Peggy Bixler, RN, MSN, has introduced a new Healthy Lifestyle Promotion & Disease Prevention education program focusing on helping adults with chronic diseases to improve their lifestyles and to manage diseases such as diabetes, heart failure and chronic destructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The first of four free classes will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., August 3, at Beebe Medical Center. The others will take place August 10, 17 and 24. Speakers will include a dietician and an exercise physiologist. These classes are being designed to help adults improve their eating habits and to introduce more exercise in their daily lives. They also will include information about smoking cessation. The classes are free but registration is required.
