Tunnell Cancer Center to Participate in the Nanticoke Riverfest July 10 in Seaford
06/30/10
"Know your body, know your risks, love yourself and schedule your mammogram. That's the message representatives of Beebe Medical Center's Tunnell Cancer Center will be promoting at their table at the Nanticoke Riverfront Festival on Saturday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. near High and Market streets in downtown Seaford.
As part of an initiative to encourage women to get their yearly mammograms, educational information will be provided along with an opportunity for women to schedule a mammogram. The initiative has been named, SOS², Sharing Our Stories, Saving Our Sisters. Staff members will work to break down any barriers, financial or emotional, so that women can be screened for breast cancer. Early detection saves lives.
The American Cancer Society recommends that all women 21 and older have a clinical breast exam, and all women 40 years and older should have a yearly mammogram.
